Steel OS 3.1, 1.21, and 2000 Server

So it's been a while (and it's a new year), so, let me summarize some of my current-time roadmap for Steel OS.

So, I'm going to begin work on a major patch for Steel OS 3 under an undecided codename with the final name of Steel OS 3.1. I am also working on a patch for Steel OS 1.2 called Steel OS 1.21, which is more of a major expansion of Steel OS 1.2, giving it a 640x480 resolution, backporting the calculator and clock programs from a patched Steel OS 2.3 or 2.51, and more backgrounds, along with several bug fixes.

I am also working on a replacement version of the "server" version of Steel OS 1.2: Steel OS 2000 Server. This version will add some formal tools for server management and remove a ton of the unnecessary bloat in 1.2 Server (aka Steel OS 1997 Server).

And the last major update would be Steel OS 3.1. I plan on patching bugs in this version, which will be hard as not many bugs exist in Steel OS 3's code, and the addition of a help stock program and potentially more "DLC". I also plan on rebuilding the SPEAR protocol to be usable. Other than that, nothing big will change. I may add a few more backgrounds and a modding toolkit, as I found that it's possible to modify Steel OS 3, and I want to embrace that. And the last thing of note I'll add with 3.1 is making the code "legible" by annotating it.

If you want to see the progress in real-time, I've created a sixth YouTube channel called "SteelsOfLiquid Projects". On the topic of YouTube, I do plan on making more content involving Steel OS this year, and I plan on (eventually) releasing the executable copies of the other versions of Steel OS (1.0, 1.2, 1.73, 2.0, 2.3, and 2.51, please note that 1.51 will not be present as it got cancelled) onto here.

So, happy 2024, I've got *some* plans for Steel OS this year. Will I get to Steel OS 4? Probably not. But, to get to Steel OS 4, I need to develop Steel OS 3.1, which will be a major stepping stone in development.
